AI AND EI PARTNERSHIP IN HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT
Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Emotional Intelligence (EI) can work together collaboratively in Human Resource Management (HRM) to create a balanced, efficient, and human-centric workplace. While AI brings data-driven insights, automation, and capacity for growth, EI ensures empathy, ethical decision-making, and strong interpersonal relationships. Together they enhance Human Resource processes by enhancing employee experiences, and driving organizational success.
Understanding of AI
According to Singh and Chouhan(2023).Artificial Intelligence(AI) is defined as programming computers or other technological devices to act, react, respond, analyze or assist the same way that humans do. AI has transformed people’s life styles more standard. In organizations, the impact of AI is more visible, actionable and pave the path to broaden their functions and become more proactive within their company performance.
Understanding of EI
'The capacity for recognizing our own feelings and that of others, for motivating ourselves, for managing emotions well in ourselves as well as others’(Goleman, 1995).
Emotional intelligence refers to the ability to recognize, conceive, manage, and dominate one's own emotions, as well as the emotions of others. It is compromised with skills such as empathy, self-awareness, emotional regulation, social skills, and motivation, all of which contribute to effective interpersonal interactions and decision-making. EI represents abilities that join intelligence and emotions to enhance thoughts and help individuals to navigate complex social environments, (Mayer, Roberts and Barsade,2008). People with high emotional intelligence tend to navigate social situations more effectively, build stronger relationships, and handle stress or conflict with resilience.
Companies benefit from optimizing collaboration between humans and artificial intelligence(Wilson and Daugherty 2018).So lets elaborate how Artificial Intelligence and Emotional Intelligence combine synergistically in Human Resource Management to foster operational efficiency.
1.Recruitment and Talent Acquisition
AI delivers engagement pattern insights to Human Resource professionals who employ EI for developing tailored support approaches with team members.
2. Performance Management
Performance data which AI distributes in an unbiased manner enables Human Resource Management to employ their Emotional Intelligence skills and motivate their workforce.
3. Learning and Development
Through AI the delivery of customized training materials happens simultaneously with Human Resource professionals applying EI methods to provide emotional support for learning that matches what employees require.
4. Employee Engagement and Retention
The analysis of employee engagement trends through AI produces quantitative data which Human Resource professionals combine with EI to develop individual solutions with staff members.
5. Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
The identification of systemic issues comes from AI but HR professionals utilize Emotional Intelligence to create culturally appropriate solutions which maintain emotional intelligence standards.
6. Employee Well-Being and Mental Health
Early diagnosis of mental health concerns originates from AI technology but employee mental health support requires EI expertise from HR professionals.
7. Leadership Development
Through AI applications HR professionals can find leadership deficiencies and also utilize emotional intelligence to develop intelligent leaders.
8. Conflict Resolution
The platform examines employee communication to recognize rising patterns of disagreements between team members. Data-centered analysis helps teams understand their dynamics better but EI enables emotional and sympathetic discussions that lead to conflict resolutions. Tea receives improved trust relationships alongside enhanced team member understanding.
