AI AND EI PARTNERSHIP IN HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT

 

                        


                

Artificial  Intelligence (AI) and Emotional Intelligence (EI) can work together collaboratively in Human Resource Management (HRM) to create a balanced, efficient, and human-centric workplace. While AI brings data-driven insights, automation, and capacity for growth, EI ensures empathy, ethical decision-making, and strong interpersonal relationships. Together they enhance Human Resource processes by enhancing employee experiences, and driving organizational success.                                         

Understanding of AI

According to Singh and Chouhan(2023).Artificial Intelligence(AI) is defined as programming computers or other technological devices to act, react, respond, analyze or assist the same way that humans do. AI has transformed people’s life styles more standard. In organizations, the impact of AI is  more visible, actionable and pave the path to  broaden their functions and become more proactive within their company performance.

Understanding of EI

 'The capacity for recognizing our own feelings and that of others, for motivating ourselves, for managing emotions well in ourselves as well as others’(Goleman, 1995).

Emotional intelligence refers to the ability to recognize, conceive, manage, and dominate one's own emotions, as well as the emotions of others. It is compromised with skills such as empathy, self-awareness, emotional regulation, social skills, and motivation, all of which contribute to effective interpersonal interactions and decision-making. EI represents abilities that join intelligence and  emotions to enhance thoughts and help individuals to navigate complex social environments, (Mayer, Roberts and Barsade,2008). People with high emotional intelligence tend to navigate social situations more effectively, build stronger relationships, and handle stress or conflict with resilience. 

Companies benefit from optimizing collaboration between humans and artificial intelligence(Wilson and Daugherty 2018).So lets elaborate how Artificial  Intelligence and Emotional Intelligence  combine synergistically in Human Resource Management to foster operational efficiency.

The combination of Artificial Intelligence (AI) with Emotional Intelligence (EI) plays a significant role for Sri Lanka, where a people-centered approach is deeply embedded in its culture, economy, and societal structures. Here are some of suggestions to drive success.

*Supporting Mental Health and Well-being

Sri Lanka needs better attention to mental health both in terms of general awareness and specific health services provision. AI systems featuring EI elements allow people to obtain adaptable mental health help from platforms that deliver sensitive emotional support through unique sustainable approaches.

*Fostering Inclusive Economic Growth

AI with EI provides sufficient capability to find workplace biases so that they can be solved in garment manufacturing as well as IT industries. The workforce will achieve better equality and higher productivity while remaining emotionally well after organizations step up their promotion of diversity.

*Strengthening Public Services

Government services can benefit from AI-EI integration to improve citizen engagement and management. Whether in public transport, housing, or welfare, empathetic AI systems can assist to enhance transparency and  lead to enhanced public trust.
